In4mers - 4ward 4self 4others, a peer education initiative

What? 4 is a peer education initiative - it's about young people learning from other young people about issues that affect them. Learning from peers is more effective than learning from adults. After all, when you're dealing with topics like Bullying or Media Awareness, young people know more about what life is like for other young people in their area.

Who? Any senior section member can train as an in4mer (that includes guides over 14, young leaders, rangers, and guiders up to the age of 26).

When and Where? It's up to each in4mer to decide when she is available and how far she is prepared to travel. The more in4mers there are, the better!

How? A basic training (1 weekend) is all you need to get started as an in4mer. After that it's up to you what sessions you run and whether you have any further training.

Why? You're a senior section member, you're busy, why do yet another thing? It's flexible, you practise lots of useful skills (great for impressing employers or universities), it counts towards your Queen's Guide and Duke of Edinburgh's award, you meet new people, and most of all you'll have FUN!
